Savings Souls and Keeping Souls Saved

Who We Are

Redford Church of Christ is a non-denominational body of believers located in Detroit, Michigan. We follow the simple pattern of the New Testament church and seek to be Christians according to Scripture.

Our congregation is made up of a diverse group of people—from the young to the seasoned—who share a common desire: follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and serve others. We believe that every member is the church (1 Corinthians 12:27), and we work together as one to save souls and keep souls saved.

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God. It is through Scripture that we understand God’s intended plan of salvation and the pattern he established for His church.

  • Jesus Christ rose from the dead. He paid the price for our sins through His death, burial, and resurrection, giving us the hope of eternal life. (1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Romans 5:8–9; John 11:25)
  • Salvation is found in Christ alone. We are saved by grace through faith, and we respond in obedience through belief, repentance, confession, and baptism by immersion for the forgiveness of sins. (Mark 16:16; Luke 13: 3, 5; Matthew 10: 32-33; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:3–4; Galatians 3:27)
  • There is one church. Christ established one body—the church—which is made up of all who have obeyed the gospel and remain faithful to His Word. (Matthew 16:18; Ephesians 1:22–23; Ephesians 4:4–6)
  • Worship is according to Scripture. We meet on the first day of the week to sing, pray, share the Lord’s Supper, give, and hear the preaching of God’s Word. (Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 14:15; Ephesians 5:19; 1 Corinthians 16:1–2)
